漫画研究会

Manga Kenkyuukai – Roughly translated to Manga Research Group, this is the blog of the Comics Interest Group (at Republic Polytechnic). Started in the days before the IG became official, we have since taken a less instructive direction in post content, and will henceforth serve as an editorial-based guide to Illustration and Sequential Arts, as well as provide updates on IG-related matters and events.

Comics IG
Originally known as the Manga IG, the Comics IG is one of the newest additions to RP-STA’s Club G (as of 2008). We are a group focusing on the creation of comics, as well as the related skills required (Plot Development, Storyboarding, Illustration Techniques, etc.). Also, the previous Animator IG will be merged with Comics IG, and although details are sparse, there will be no changes to the IG name or structure as of yet, and will very unlikely alter the IG’s purpose, as the merger was conducted under the reason that both groups focuses on Sequential Arts, albeit in different forms.

Being a relatively new IG, we are still in the process of learning about various procedures and event planning, but we will continue to provide you with our best in managerial matters.

梅

The person placed in charge of the blog. 梅 (Ume) is your friendly neighbourhood manga assistant, as well as the-last-remaining-member-of-now-defunct-Animator-IG. A coffee addict, and (as a result of this addiction) an insomniac. Has no money because all of it went to the greedy hands of the Wacom empire. Unfunny.

杰米

Helping out with the ‘maintainence’ is 杰米 (Jiemi), who joined in some time ago as some random guy in the club. I used to be a student of Republic Polytechnic which we all love (….right?) and will be attending a 2 year chalet starting with 2+ month warm-up stay at Pulau Tekong. While i serve the Government during these 2 years, I’ll do my best to help out whenever and whatever i can to this club.
As for my interests, I do draw in my free-time while i constantly struggle to improve my substandard skills. I also tend to be quite happy go lucky with my time management (Which apparently sucks…), which is the reason why you’ll tend to see nonsensical rantings and posts on this blog some time soon. Other than that, i’m just your ‘below-average’ otaku.

Random posts will be posted by me,  鱼(Fish) is taking charge some random/public relation stuff. Will be kept as a hidden member once have accomplished stuff. Will be alone doing stuff all the time, anything can poke her and she will just ‘rawr’ and there goes your day with all the craziness that you won’t expect. Been emo for quite some times since she haven’t found her drawing style and being sandwiched by Supply Chain and drawings. Trying to maintain and snatch more time from the god. Bbbbbbaaaaaaaa.

Amon/Chong Hao

All important and non important posts would then be posted by me. Being used as a negotiator with other clubs and with our dear advisors , I am the one who makes the crucial decisions with the Committee and help plan the events in order for the IG to run smoothly. Despite being Year 1 ,I am not one who is unfamiliar with Comics or Leading especially when I have lead multiple groups and am a leader in my previous schools and at church. I do push you beyond your limit  and am demanding at times but that is the way I cultivate people.

Frequently busy playin my guitar/keyboard or drawing , I am still approachable I guess…..But even so , do not spam me. I am pretty much the musical and arty sort of person albeit I have a sporty side to myself. I can appear skeptical at times but that is just me. Enough about me. Now it’s your turn.

SkullMech/Kai

Watashiwa Kai desu(I am Kai ^_^). Yoroshiku Onegaishimazu(Please Treat me Kindly-I think that is what it means). I am ’supposedly’ the one to update this blog daily. And being new at this (A DIDM student that doesn’t know how to blog?! DX) you might see some quirks here and there and if that DO happens, you know who to blame.. (~>.<~)  Neways, I am currently the secretary and am again ’supposedly’ to be in charge of anything with paperwork all the way to sending emails to you guys. So if you have anything you need to know, don’t be afraid to approach me cause, do approach. Cause even if you do I might not be able to give you all the answers neways. (XP) Other than that, the only thing you need to know about me is I am good (Can’t say specialize cause my drawings are still considered amateurish at best. I can’t even draw Gundam!!!) at drawing Mecha. But I am learning and sooner or later I shall replace the Kai(ask Miku for details) from dunno where who is currently the beast at drawing Mechs.

Miku/Aaron

Apparently Miku is the SKW OF SKW. Joinned Comics IG during it’s humble offical first yr. This SKW OF SKW is your typical ota u can find around, maybe of the lower class ota. Miku is now in love with his NDS girlfriend and is hooked to it. This is something all humans SHOULD NOT FOLLOW AS IT MAKES U A DAMENINGEN. (horrible human.. or something within the lines)

Miku is your friendly trap in Comics IG that does lineart. And nothing else besides that. because lineart is just simply love. Colouring is something Miku does once in a while when he intends to do some TABLET-FLIP stunts.

Miku also does random post on the ig blog. When i do say random, I REALLY DO MEAN RANDOM. And of course her favourite line : “WACK FIRST! WORRY LATER”

Sakiru/Clement

Joined the COMIC IG (RPG) as theres no animator IG (sadly). Everyday he is forced to do quest (Problem Statements) in the Castle of Torture (Republic Polytechnic). Faced with the desire to buy all his Weapons and Potions from his special shop (E-Bay or Pan in The Box)
The old man among the year 1 and always the karaoke fanatic (drools) who suggest karaoke or sings every day in his miserable life. His sanity was lost on the first day he joined Comics IG, smile!

Rayu/Ziyan

HIHI DESU! Rayu the loyal (not royal) queen is here to intro herself.(yes I’m a girl despite being called Rayu)Together with her evil twin they shall take over comic RPG( clement intrudes and slaps) okay enough nonsense. Let start a proper introduction.

Her purpose in comic ig is to spread the love of art regardless who they are. That includes YOU! And She is the one that kick people butt to get them working .Yes she’s made to be the evil one (so cruellll!!!!Sobs)Her art skill is still mada mada dane so forgive her ya just tell her her  flaws and she’ll love you (but make sure it not nonsense =.=)

yo. am a minor character, maybe relief character, NPC perhaps or free kill. no significant role, was secretly a member of CPAP(disbanded?). likes to doodle, and does really rough messy strokes, as a hobby and habit. though, will put in more effort and commitment in the more important works. am a quiet decent boy, with the occasional perverse joking (rarely). not M-type, just need to be pushed a little for some work. that’s all.
